South Cerney, Gloucestershire | £24,500–£25,500 DOE | Hybrid Working

CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with a rapidly expanding mutual society offering a genuinely warm, welcoming and supportive working environment. Due to continued growth, it is now looking for a Member Services Consultant to join its friendly eight-person Membership Services team.
Previous financial-services experience is not essential. The business is interested in hearing from people with customer-service experience gained within retail, hospitality, an office or another people-focused environment.
What matters most is your ability to communicate confidently with members by telephone and email, build rapport and provide a professional, helpful service.
The Opportunity
As a Membership Services Consultant, you will act as a key point of contact for existing members, prospective members and Financial Advisers.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Responding to general enquiries by telephone and email
- Providing clear and helpful information about the society’s products and services
- Tracking applications and keeping members and advisers updated
- Maintaining accurate personal and professional details within internal systems
- Providing administrative support to the Intermediary Sales Team
- Delivering an FCA-compliant, information-only service to prospective members
- Handling sensitive or potentially difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Ensuring all records and correspondence are accurate and completed to a high standard

What We’re Looking For
You do not need to come from a financial-services background, but you should have some previous customer-service or people-facing experience.
You Will Ideally Have
- A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner
- The ability to build rapport with a wide range of people
- Strong written communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The confidence to manage difficult or sensitive conversations
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A positive, team-focused approach
- A minimum grade C/4 GCSE, or equivalent, in Maths and English
The existing team works hard but also enjoys having fun, so the business is looking for someone personable, approachable and keen to become part of its close-knit culture.

Salary and Benefits
The salary is £24,500–£25,500, depending on experience, alongside an outstanding benefits package that includes:
- Annual bonus worth 10% of salary

Hours and Hybrid Working
The normal office hours are 8:45am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Hybrid working is available, although you will need to attend the South Cerney office approximately two to three days per week.
