Menswear Designer

We're hiring a Menswear Designer on behalf of a leading large-scale London supplier. You'll join a highly successful, multifunctional team as the designer for Primark Tailoring and Smart Edits, shaping trend-led ranges that reach millions of customers across the high street. Reporting to the Design Manager.

The successful individual must be UK-based, comfortably commutable to Camden. With around 3-5 years of experience and design expertise in men's tailoring, backed by an excellent eye for trend, fabric, and colour. Confident presentation skills and intermediate to advanced Adobe Illustrator proficiency are essential. AI design experience is also a plus.

What you'll be doing

  • Design seasonal and trend-led collections in line with customer design aesthetic.
  • Identify emerging trends and potential gaps in the product range, and propose appropriate fabrics and styling options.
  • Work closely with the account management team to provide customers with continuous and excellent service supporting product and range evolution.
  • Ongoing fabric and trend research, presenting to in-house teams and buyers.
  • Extensive fabric and trim sourcing, collaborating with the in-house fabric team whilst aligning with buyer briefs and emerging trends.
  • Prepare and lead customer development days, actioning development samples according to brief.
  • Create initial technical packs in Illustrator, working with the garment technical team.
  • Manage the development critical path for your designs, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and production hubs, regularly updating the customer on sample progress, ensuring samples are delivered in time for range build and sign-off meetings.
  • Liaising daily with mills, factories, and buying teams, establishing professional relationships on all sides.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in Fashion Design with at least 3 years of post-graduate UK-based experience in menswear, specifically tailoring and smart apparel.
  • Fast fashion or supermarket brand experience will be an advantage.
  • Excellent fabric knowledge with a great eye for trend, colour, and texture.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator) and MS Office.
  • AI design experience is welcome if you have this.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A confident, proactive, positive presence within a team.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
  • A people person who naturally enjoys building relationships with buyers, colleagues, and suppliers at every level.
  • Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be UK-based and living within a commutable distance of Camden.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary c£37k in line with experience.
  • Hybrid working, 2-3 days a week in the office.
  • 25 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
