Mental Health Alliance Lead – Tower Hamlets
Location: Agile working, with regular travel across Tower Hamlets and surrounding areas as required
Hours: Part-time (0.8FTE)
Contract: Fixed term contract

We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Mental Health Alliance Lead to drive the next phase of development for the Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a growing alliance of voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations and partners, helping to create a more connected, equitable, and sustainable mental health system for local people.
About the role
The Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance has secured investment from East London NHS Foundation Trust to strengthen alliance infrastructure and delivery. As Mental Health Alliance Lead, you will work with senior leaders, community organisations, commissioners, and people with lived experience to ensure the alliance delivers on its ambitions.
You will act as the key facilitator and coordinator for the alliance, bringing partners together around shared objectives while providing leadership across governance, quality assurance, reporting, compliance, and partnership development.
The role focuses on:
- Building and strengthening strategic partnerships
- Supporting co-production and community leadership
- Addressing health inequalities and advancing anti-racist practice
- Developing sustainable funding and infrastructure
- Supporting workforce sustainability across the sector
- Embedding lived experience throughout alliance activity
- Ensuring robust governance, reporting, and performance management

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll influence across organisational boundaries and help create lasting change within the local mental health system.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the ongoing development of the Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance
- Building trusted relationships across VCFSE organisations, NHS partners, local authorities, and funders
- Supporting alliance governance and contributing to or chairing partnership meetings, boards, and forums
- Coordinating alliance delivery, mobilisation projects, and new initiatives
- Managing reporting, compliance, quality assurance, and due diligence requirements
- Producing meaningful performance and impact reports, using data to drive improvement
- Working closely with commissioners and strategic stakeholders
- Supporting the development of sustainable alliance structures and future opportunities
- Championing co-production and ensuring the voice of lived experience informs decision-making
- Promoting equity, inclusion, and social justice in all aspects of alliance development
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience of working across voluntary, community, health, or public sector environments
- A commitment to community leadership, co-production, and lived experience approaches
- Knowledge of inequalities affecting mental health outcomes and a strong commitment to anti-racist and inclusive practice
- Experience managing programmes, projects, contracts, or partnership initiatives
- Strong analytical, reporting, and performance management skills
- Experience presenting information and influencing at senior levels
- Excellent organisational and facilitation skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and communities
