Role Description

The Mental Health Consultant – UK is a part-time, remote role focused on providing high-quality online mental health support to clients based in the United Kingdom. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The consultant will:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the platform
  • Adhere to relevant UK professional and ethical guidelines

Additional tasks may involve:

  • Contributing to workplace mental health programs
  • Offering psychoeducation
  • Supporting clients with self-help tools and resources

The role requires consistent, compassionate engagement with clients and the ability to manage a flexible online caseload.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Psychology, Mental Health, and Behavioral Health, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical client care.
  • Demonstrated experience in Mental Health Counseling, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing therapeutic support.
  • Competence in Family Therapy, with skills in working with couples, families, and diverse relational dynamics.
  • Relevant professional qualification in psychology, counseling, psychotherapy, social work, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MSc, MA, Doctorate) preferred.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate UK professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, BABCP, NCS, GMC as applicable).
  • Experience providing online or telehealth services and comfort using secure digital platforms for therapy and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with a client-centered, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage a flexible schedule, and maintain strong professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care) and familiarity with risk assessment and crisis intervention protocols.
