About the Role
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner (Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) to join our small and supportive Community Mental Health Team for older adults. This is a great opportunity to join our friendly and dynamic multidisciplinary team, with lots of support and CPD opportunities.
We provide patient-focused, evidence-based mental health interventions and assessment for people aged 65 and above, with a range of Functional and Organic mental health illnesses.
Key Requirements
- Relevant NMC or HCPC registration
- Relevant pre-registration experience of working in mental health environments (not essential)
- Previous experience and skills which can transfer into this role – good communication, organisational skills and timekeeping amongst others
- Passion for working with older people in the community experiencing mental health challenges
- Lived experience of mental health challenges is welcomed
Role Details
The post is based at City Care Centre, Peterborough. CPFT supports agile working, with flexibility for work-life balance. Visits to the team are welcome. There is free parking nearby and a café onsite.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Key Responsibilities
- Providing support interventions for people with significant mental health conditions
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team with colleagues in the wider Older People's Mental Health Team
- Monitoring and reviewing the use of prescribed medications
Your primary area of coverage will be Central Peterborough, but you must also remain flexible to support other parts of Peterborough as needed. Regular travel will be essential for this role. We provide a preceptorship programme and regular support and supervision.
