Staff Nurse - Oak 3 Ward, AAU
We are excited to advertise our Staff Nurse post for our AAU, Oak 3 Ward based in Peterborough at the Edith Cavell site. The Cavell is an accessible site, a café on site and a beautiful modern design with new wards.
About the Role
At CPFT our adult inpatient wards operate an exciting, ambitious model of care, known as the NAV, which ensures every admission is Necessary, Appropriate, and adds Value to a person’s recovery.
- Care is reviewed daily in our multidisciplinary report‑out meetings, with regular updates provided to patients.
- The ward consultant will review individuals as required.
This approach ensures clear goals, timely intervention, and consistent communication throughout a person’s stay.
Key Responsibilities
We need a charismatic, energetic, enthusiastic staff nurse to support the provision of evidence-based treatment and work with our multi-disciplinary team to support our service users. On our Treatment ward we care for our local population experiencing serious mental illness.
The ward's bold model requires staff to have a commitment to teamwork, a sense of accountability, and an ability to work well under pressure when required.
If you are successful, we will support you in providing quality evidence-based nursing care for our service users with mental and physical health needs. As a staff nurse you will interact frequently with carers and families providing support and advice where appropriate.

- You will be working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and will be responsible for supporting and leading on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care on a rotational shift basis.
- We will expect you to have a good level of knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
- We will expect you to identify and contribute to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation.
