Dorset All Age Eating Disorders Service (DAEDS)
The Dorset All Age Eating Disorders Service (DAEDS) is seeking compassionate, caring and motivated Mental Health Support Workers to join our Adult Inpatient Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing specialist treatment and high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with eating disorders.
Previous experience supporting people with eating disorders in a mental health setting is desirable; however, empathy, compassion and a genuine commitment to supporting recovery are essential. Successful applicants will be able to work effectively within a busy, dynamic environment, demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills, and have a willingness to learn and develop.

Role Requirements:
- Participation in a shift rota, including nights
- Shift pattern: 7.5-hour day shifts (longer shifts may be considered following discussion)

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of, and supervised by, a Registered Nurse
- Carry out assigned tasks identified by the trained nursing staff in relation to patients’ needs
- Help supervise and support patients during and after mealtimes
- Making accurate records of patient observations
- Work unsupervised when offering verbal and emotional support to patients
Condition of Employment:
- Undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course
- Successful completion of this course is a condition of your employment
