We're looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health Reablement Support Service in Nottingham on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. You'll support people experiencing mental health challenges to build confidence, develop resilience and take positive steps towards greater independence.
Role Overview
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll work directly with individuals in the community, providing practical and emotional support through a time-limited reablement programme. Using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, you'll empower people to make informed choices, overcome barriers and improve their quality of life.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your experience within mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will:
- Support individuals with mental health needs to live as independently as possible within their communities.
- Deliver a reablement-focused programme of support, helping people achieve agreed goals and outcomes.
- Develop and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
- Support people with budgeting, daily living skills, physical and mental wellbeing, and accessing meaningful activities and routines.
- Assist individuals to access housing, benefits, healthcare and other relevant services.
- Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, support networks and partner agencies.
- Encourage service users to make informed choices and build confidence in managing their own wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
