As a Mental Health Support Worker at our Merchants House service in Shipley, you’ll play an important role in helping the people we support build confidence, develop independence and achieve their personal goals.

🌈 What will you be doing?
As a Support Worker, you'll provide person-centred support based on individual needs, preferences and goals.
Your day could include:
✅ Supporting with cooking, shopping and meal preparation
✅ Helping people manage medication and attend appointments
✅ Supporting budgeting and household tasks
✅ Encouraging people to access their local community
✅ Helping individuals discover new hobbies and develop life skills
✅ Providing emotional support and encouragement
✅ Promoting independence, choice and confidence
✅ Building positive, trusting relationships with the people we support
✅ Working as part of a supportive and dedicated team
You'll be there to celebrate the big achievements and the little wins – whether that's trying something new, getting out into the community or taking another step towards greater independence.

🕒 What does the shift pattern look like?
This is a 38.5-hour-per-week role working on a rotational shift pattern.
You will be required to work a mixture of:
☀️ Day shifts
🌙 Waking night shifts
📅 Weekends
Our services operate 24 hours a day, so flexibility and the ability to work across the full shift pattern is essential.

👀 What are we looking for?
You don't necessarily need previous experience in care. Attitude, compassion and a genuine desire to help others are just as important to us.
We're looking for people who are:

👥 Comfortable working as part of a team
🔄 Flexible and able to work days, waking nights and weekends
Previous experience in care, mental health or supporting people with complex needs is welcomed.
A Level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care qualification is also beneficial, but it's not essential if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Experience of caring for a loved one, family member or someone with complex needs can also provide valuable transferable skills.
