Mental Health Teaching Assistant | Chippenham - Wiltshire

A welcoming specialist school in Chippenham is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support children aged 5-16 with Autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, anxiety, and additional learning needs. This Mental Health Teaching Assistant role offers invaluable experience working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, psychologists, and SEN professionals within a supportive and therapeutic school environment.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils throughout the school day, helping them regulate their emotions, build resilience, and develop confidence. You will work closely with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, implement strategies to support positive behaviour, encourage engagement in learning, and help pupils develop communication, independence, and social skills. The Mental Health Teaching Assistant will also contribute to creating a safe, nurturing classroom environment where every child can thrive academically and emotionally.
