Are you an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who enjoys winning work as much as delivering it?
I'm working with a growing, independent MEP and sustainability consultancy that is looking for an Associate Director to help drive the growth of its London office.
This is a genuinely work-winning role, with a strong focus on developing client relationships, identifying opportunities and bringing new projects into the business - while still giving you the opportunity to remain involved technically.
What you'll be doing
You'll have a significant influence on the direction and growth of the London office, including:
- Developing new and existing client relationships
- Identifying and winning new MEP opportunities
- Building and managing your own project pipeline
- Leading bids, fee proposals and client presentations
- Developing relationships with developers, contractors, architects and end clients
- Supporting the wider team with project strategy and technical delivery
- Helping shape the consultancy's growth across key sectors

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The business works particularly across hotels, education, offices, fit-out, retrofit and refurbishment, so an existing network in these areas would be useful - but isn't essential.
What they're looking for
You'll ideally be a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with strong building services consultancy experience and a proven ability to develop business.
You don't need to be a pure BD professional. In fact, they're looking for someone who can combine technical credibility with commercial ambition.
You could be an existing Associate Director or Associate Engineer ready to take a bigger role in business development.
What's most important is that you're confident building relationships, winning work and representing a consultancy externally.

Why consider it?
This is an opportunity to have a real influence on the growth of a London office, rather than simply stepping into an established position.
You'll have the freedom to use your network, develop new relationships and help shape where the business goes next, with the technical expertise of an established MEP and sustainability consultancy behind you.
Salary up to £100k, with the opportunity to build something long-term.
If you're commercially minded, technically credible and enjoy the work-winning side of consultancy, I'd be keen to have a confidential conversation.
