The MEP Commercial Manager Opportunity

Crown House Technologies (CHt), the specialist MEP delivery business of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking an experienced MEP Commercial Manager to join the team delivering Hinkley Point C.

You'll take commercial ownership of a £175m MEP package, with a strong focus on commercial governance, performance and risk management. You'll work closely with project leadership, operational teams, clients and key supply chain partners to maintain robust commercial controls and support successful delivery.

What will the role look like?

  • Lead commercial management of major MEP packages, driving performance, governance, profitability and cash flow.
  • Manage live subcontract packages, including commercial performance, change, valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Monitor package performance, costs, labour and delivery, identifying issues and potential impacts early.
  • Identify emerging issues and risks, leading appropriate risk management and mitigation.
  • Lead commercial governance, ensuring robust controls, reporting and processes are maintained.
  • Manage change control, variations, claims and commercial negotiations, protecting contractual entitlement.
  • Monitor labour costs, defects and associated commercial impacts.
  • Provide commercial advice, cost reporting, forecasting and insight to project leadership.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders.
  • Support and develop the wider Commercial team.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Proven commercial management experience within the MEP sector, ideally with a specialist MEP contractor or major main contractor.
  • Strong experience managing large, complex MEP packages and live subcontracts.
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge, with experience across commercial governance, risk and performance management.
  • Ability to lead, influence and support commercial teams and wider project stakeholders.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management; RICS membership desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within a highly regulated environment, such as nuclear, defence, energy or major infrastructure.
