MEP Design Engineer – Data Centre
West London
Tier One Main Contractor
Contract (£350-£450pd)
A leading Tier One Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Design Engineer to join the team on a major Data Centre project in West London on a freelance basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong MEP professional to play a key role in the design coordination and delivery of a large-scale Data Centre development, working alongside the wider design and project delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical design packages across the project.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and the wider construction team to resolve design issues.
- Manage design coordination, ensuring interfaces between MEP systems are effectively integrated.
- Review technical information and identify potential design clashes or buildability issues.
- Support the design development process from pre-construction through to installation and commissioning.
- Monitor design progress against project programmes and key milestones.

- Previous experience in an MEP Design Engineer role within the construction industry.
- Experience working on Data Centre or other complex MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
- Experience with design coordination, technical reviews, and resolving design issues.
- Ability to liaise effectively with consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
