Role: MEP Engineer

Location: West Midlands

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

Job Type: Permanent

Our client is a well-established, specialist engineering business operating within the fire protection and life safety sector. With a strong reputation for delivering technically driven solutions, the company works on a range of projects across the UK and internationally.

The business combines specialist engineering expertise with a focus on quality, innovation and compliance, providing an excellent environment for an experienced MEP Engineer to develop their technical skills while working on varied and challenging projects.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to join our client’s team, based in the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an MEP professional with strong technical knowledge and Revit experience to work on a variety of projects, supporting the design, development and delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health systems.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience with ductwork design, although this is advantageous rather than essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and develop detailed MEP designs using Revit.
  • Prepare and update technical drawings, layouts and design documentation.
  • Work across mechanical and electrical building services disciplines.
  • Assist with the design and coordination of MEP systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Undertake design coordination and identify potential clashes or issues.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry requirements.
  • Support project delivery from initial concept through to construction.
  • Attend design and project meetings where required.
  • Provide technical support and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes.
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation are produced accurately and to agreed deadlines.

  • Previous experience working as an MEP Engineer or in a similar building services engineering role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit – essential.
  • Good understanding of MEP design principles and building services.
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to design.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Experience with ductwork design and coordination.
  • Experience working within a consultancy, contractor or multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Experience coordinating MEP services within BIM environments.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or professional accreditation.
