MEP Lead – Tier One Main Contractor
£120,000 - £130,000

Major Data Centre Project
A leading Tier One Main Contractor is currently seeking an experienced MEP Lead to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) elements of a major hyperscale Data Centre project in West London. The appointed candidate will play a key leadership role in the successful delivery of this technically complex, large-scale scheme, working closely with the client, consultants, specialist subcontractors, and wider project team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination, management, and delivery of all MEP packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
- Oversee MEP design development and coordination in collaboration with consultants, specialist subcontractors, and the design management team
- Manage MEP programmes, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and public health works are fully integrated with the overall construction programme
- Coordinate complex MEP installations, ensuring works are delivered to the required technical, quality, programme, and health & safety standards
- Lead client, consultant, and stakeholder meetings relating to MEP delivery and provide regular progress updates
- Work closely with the commercial team on procurement, subcontractor management, variations, and package performance
- Drive the coordination of MEP services across multiple disciplines, ensuring interfaces are effectively managed
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the wider MEP delivery team
- Support the commissioning, testing, integrated systems testing, and final handover of the Data Centre

Candidate Requirements:

- Proven experience in a similar MEP Lead / MEP Project Lead / MEP Manager role on large-scale Data Centre projects
- Strong understanding of the technical and delivery requirements associated with mission-critical / hyperscale Data Centre environments
- Experience managing major MEP packages on projects valued at £100m+
- Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and public health disciplines
- Background with a main contractor, ideally a Tier One contractor, delivering complex MEP projects
- Excellent coordination, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Experience working through pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid desirable
