MEP Project Manager – Data Centres | Europe
Office: Based in Cardiff with regular travel to sites around Europe
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £90,000 - £95,000
We are currently seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join a major data centre delivery team, leading the successful execution of mission-critical MEP projects across Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MEP professional with a strong background in hyperscale or colocation data centres, looking to take responsibility for complex projects from pre-construction and design through installation, commissioning and handover.
The Role:
As MEP Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health packages, working closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, specialist subcontractors and vendors.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading MEP delivery from design through commissioning and handover
- Managing mechanical, electrical, BMS, fire protection and ELV packages
- Coordinating contractors, subcontractors and specialist vendors
- Managing programme, budget, quality, safety and project risk
- Reviewing and coordinating MEP design documentation
- Overseeing installation, integration, testing and commissioning
- Driving IST (Integrated Systems Testing) and commissioning strategies
- Managing technical interfaces and resolving design/construction conflicts
- Leading coordination meetings with clients, consultants and delivery teams
- Managing change control and commercial impacts
- Ensuring compliance with European standards, regulations and HSE requirements
- Providing regular reporting on programme, cost, risk and quality

Technical Experience:
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience across:
- MV/LV electrical distribution
- UPS and generator systems
- HVAC and chilled-water systems
- CRAH / CRAC systems
- Cooling infrastructure
- BMS / SCADA
- Fire detection and suppression systems
- Mission-critical infrastructure
- Testing, commissioning and IST
- Tier III / Tier IV data centre environments
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5–10+ years' MEP Project Management experience
- Proven experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data centres
- Experience working across European markets such as Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Nordics or France
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent programme, risk and commercial management experience
- Strong commissioning and handover experience
- Familiarity with FIDIC or equivalent European construction contracts
- Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project or similar
- Excellent English communication skills
- Additional European languages would be advantageous
