MEP Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester (Regional Office Based)

Our client is one of the UK's leading specialist M&E contractors, delivering complex mechanical and electrical solutions across a hugely diverse range of sectors nationwide. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, quality, and project delivery, the business continues to grow and has recently expanded into main contracting, creating exciting opportunities for ambitious commercial professionals.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their Manchester regional team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly respected organisation, supporting a varied portfolio of projects across commercial, healthcare, education, infrastructure, leisure, residential, and mission-critical sectors.
Based from their Manchester office, you will work closely with project teams, commercial managers, and operational delivery teams to support the successful commercial management of MEP packages from procurement through to final account.

- Support the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple projects.
- Assist with cost planning, estimating, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Manage valuations, variations, change control, and payment applications.
- Prepare and review cost reports, forecasts, and commercial performance updates.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to maximize project performance.
- Assist with the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.
- Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Support procurement activities including tender analysis, negotiations, and subcontractor appointments.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the MEP / Building Services sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations and associated commercial processes.
- Experience working for an M&E subcontractor, specialist contractor, or building services organisation.
- Good knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Exposure to a range of sectors and project environments would be advantageous.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project teams.
