MEP Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leeds (Regional Office Based)
Sector: Building Services | MEP | Construction

Our client is one of the UK's leading specialist M&E contractors, delivering complex mechanical and electrical solutions across a diverse range of sectors nationwide. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and project delivery, the business has continued to expand and has recently moved into main contracting, creating exciting opportunities for ambitious construction professionals.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their Leeds regional team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly respected organisation, supporting a varied portfolio of projects across commercial, infrastructure, healthcare, education, leisure, and mission-critical sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple projects.
  • Assist with cost planning, estimating, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Manage valuations, variations, change control, and payment applications.
  • Prepare and review cost reports, forecasts, and commercial performance updates.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to maximise project performance.
  • Assist with the preparation and agreement of subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.
  • Monitor project costs and identify potential risks, opportunities, and commercial improvements.
  • Support procurement activities including tender analysis, negotiations, and subcontractor appointments.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Surveyor within the MEP / Building Services sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations and associated commercial processes.
  • Experience working for an M&E subcontractor, specialist contractor, or building services organisation.
  • Good knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Experience working across multiple sectors and project environments would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work collaboratively within project teams.
