MEP Quantity Surveyors – Assistant to Senior Level
East London – 15 Minutes from the City
TClarke – Tier 1 MEP Contractor
TClarke are looking to appoint MEP Quantity Surveyors from Assistant through to Senior level to join the commercial team on a major hyperscale data centre project in East London, located just 15 minutes from the City of London.
This is a long-term opportunity, with approximately three years of confirmed work from pre-construction through to completion, alongside the potential for up to six years of work through future phases.
TClarke are delivering the MEP works as the principal contractor, working directly with the client, providing significant commercial responsibility, client exposure and involvement throughout the full project lifecycle.
As a leading Tier 1 MEP contractor, TClarke delivers complex mechanical and electrical solutions across the Data Centre, Commercial, Life Sciences, Healthcare and Infrastructure sectors.
The Commercial Team
You will join a structured and experienced commercial function consisting of:
- Experienced Commercial Lead
- 2x Senior Quantity Surveyors
- 2x Project Surveyors
- 2x Assistant Quantity Surveyors
This provides strong support at every level and the opportunity to work alongside experienced commercial professionals on a technically complex, high-profile data centre development.
The Role
You will support or lead the commercial management of MEP packages throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through to completion and final account.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing mechanical and/or electrical MEP packages
- Procurement and subcontract package management
- Preparing and managing valuations and applications for payment
- Managing change control, variations and commercial risk
- Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor applications and accounts
- Cost reporting, forecasting and financial management
- Managing contractual correspondence and commercial documentation
- Working closely with project management, design and construction teams
- Managing relationships with the client, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain
- Supporting and agreeing final accounts
- Identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating project risks

Brief Level of Responsibility
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Supporting procurement, valuations, cost reporting, subcontract administration and change control while developing your experience on a major hyperscale project.
Project Surveyor
- Taking ownership of MEP packages, managing procurement, subcontractors, valuations, change control, forecasting and commercial reporting.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Leading the commercial management of significant MEP packages, managing key client and subcontractor relationships, driving commercial strategy and overseeing risk, change and final accounts.
About You
We are looking for MEP Quantity Surveyors at Assistant, Project Surveyor and Senior level, with experience gained within an MEP contractor, specialist subcontractor or relevant main contractor environment.
You should have:
- Experience working on MEP / M&E projects
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Experience with valuations, variations and change control
- Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain relationships
- Good understanding of procurement and commercial processes
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

For Senior-level positions, you should have demonstrable experience leading the commercial management of significant MEP packages and working directly with clients and key project stakeholders.
