Ferrovial Construction has been working at Heathrow Airport for over 12 years delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects to high quality, safety and environmental standards. We have focused on design and build projects with a mix of contractual arrangements. This has enabled us to refine our management procedures in response to Heathrow’s Employers Requirements and Ferrovial Construction own internal management systems.

Since joining Heathrow’s framework, Ferrovial Construction has delivered a variety of airside and landside projects across the whole airport. For example, we have delivered new taxiways and rehabilitated existing taxiways and the southern runway. We have also redeveloped sterile and grass areas and replaced critical assets, such as fire main, fuel main and HV ducts. We are currently working alongside Heathrow to rehabilitate assets with expired design life’s and plan for a future runway resurfacing project. We are constantly designing and planning our works around critical assets and engaging with different key stakeholders in order to deliver Heathrow value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow company policies and procedures, including method statements, risk assessments and briefings, while setting a strong personal example in health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Support the MEP Agent with cost management processes and programme preparation as required.
• Manage and mentor site engineers to maintain strong engineering control and accurate project records.
• Work with commercial teams to ensure measurement and payment records are prepared accurately and on time.
• Work with the MEP Agent to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works designs.
• Inform the MEP Agent of any potential commercial or contractual risks.
• Manage material orders and supplier relationships to ensure required materials are delivered on time.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure services are delivered effectively and in line with company policies.
• Promote company values in all interactions with employees, clients, subcontractors and external contacts.
• Prepare and deliver daily activity briefings and maintain a regular site diary with relevant updates.

Key Skills And Experience

• Developing commercial and contractual knowledge, with evidence of practical application.
• Experience of working in a cost-conscious environment.
• Good people management experience.
• Experience in managing subcontractors.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Technical knowledge of MEP engineering, supported by relevant project experience, with proven experience at MEP Section Engineer level on site across both civil engineering and utilities projects.
• Computer literacy.
• Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent (desirable).
