Role Purpose
The Merchandise Assistant plays a critical support role within the Merchandising team, ensuring that the right products are in place at the right time and quantities, while maximising stock availability to drive sales and profitability.
Central responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end stock into the business.
- Supporting the Merchandising & Buying teams to enhance profitability and meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Range Management
- Steward supply chain coordination for replenishment and new product development orders.
- Monitor and maintain delivery & new product launch timelines via delivery & newness trackers.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries, troubleshooting stock issues efficiently.
- Check and three-way compare purchase orders and vendor documentation to mitigate supply delays.
- Analyze sales planning data and reporting insights, enabling dynamic stock management (on-hand vs. incoming) strategies.

Trading & Insight
- Identify sales trends across assigned department categories.
- Track demand spikes, supply risks, and inventory constraints to preempt and resolve potential losses.
Collaboration & Supplier Management
- Build trusted supplier relationships, acting as first point of contact for stock intake queries.
- Maintain professionalism engaging both internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficient analytical skills with knowledge of Excel (interpretation, data handling).
- Strong problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Inquisitive awareness of Premium Beauty Brands and direct-to-consumer competitors (e.g., Nu Skin, Kylie Cosmetics).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills and time management.
- Beneficial: Retail/store or FMCG-era experience.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Demonstrates a collaborative team ethos. Constantly seeks to build strong working relationships.
- Comfortable in high-pressure environments with clear deadlines.
