About Us

Wisdom & Effort is a Manchester-based distributor and retailer of a number of high-end outdoor/lifestyle clothing brands, including Montbell, Gramicci, KAVU and Bedrock.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded Merchandiser to help maximise sales, profitability and stock performance across retail stores and e-commerce. This is a broad, hands-on role reporting to the General Manager, and working alongside a close-knit team, you will own merchandise planning across the business, ensuring the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Range Planning

  • Use historic data and product trends to plan and implement product strategy for sales, profit and stock, in line with agreed objectives and current buying and selling cycles.
  • Manage all elements of range planning, sales planning, space planning and profit planning, ensuring the correct balance, depth and breadth of ranges in store and online.
  • Plan and manage stock buy by month, division and profile, ensuring product volumes and delivery timing align with agreed objectives as part of the range development process.
  • Agree brand seasonal budgets with key stakeholders and distribute across relevant categories using data insight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
