THE ROLE
Managing a team, and reporting directly into the Head of Merchandising, you will be responsible for the merchandising function across a varied store portfolio in UK, Europe & North America for the Merchandising department. Developing profiling to make sure budgets and KPIs are exceeded. Applying your entrepreneurial spirit you will take full ownership of your department bringing fresh ideas to the table whilst developing and pushing your team forward.
You will have tight control over the management of stock and have a strong background in working with WSSIs, sale forecasting and BTA’s to over deliver against the targeted sell through and EBITDA.
You will have an affinity for product and a strong commercial awareness to ensure we deliver the strongest range possible by working closely with the Buying, Branch, Digital and Retail teams.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
- Lead, manage and develop your Assistant Merchandiser working closely with peers to help create a best in class merch function
- Help deliver the planned sales and profitability of the WW department by managing and optimising your categories through effective planning and trading
- Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures to the management team for your categories
- Regular analysis of category performance to maximise commercial opportunities
- Support branch teams to manage consolidations to ensure stock is in the right place at the right time to drive the highest full price sell through and maximise gross margin
- Through strategic planning and trading of the department, manage the intake and OTB to deliver the inventory targets for your categories and the brand.
- In-season trading to ensure the correct use of the OTB for your categories
- Category ownership within quarterly buys: analysing sales, product selection, sales/ST% forecasting and buy planning in line with OTB. Presenting results to senior team for sign off
- Working in conjunction with the Buying team to ensure the brand commercially delivers
- Lead and be heavily involved in ad-hoc projects across the merchandising team and business
- Develop current systems and processes that are in place and be instrumental in implementing best practices
- Build relationships across the brand with regional teams and support with various issues, e.g. capacity, pricing, stock levels, etc
- Lead, manage and develop the junior Merchandising planning team

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
- Proven track record of driving a department through creative thinking as a Merchandiser with proven experience working in the fashion retail industry, ideally within the premium/luxury sector, dealing with multiple products categories
- Strong understanding of the brand and thorough knowledge of UKEU and NA market, trends and shopping habits.
- Extensive experience working in the fashion retail industry dealing with multiple products categories.
- Experience managing performance and stocks on digital platforms and digital concessions.
- Able to demonstrate a commercial aptitude and pragmatic approach to working
- Stock management skills are essential as is having established your experience working with WSSIs, sales forecasting and BTAs.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to use initiative, and be agile in a fast paced and ever changing environment
- Advanced Excel skills with strong ability to manipulate data and produce reports accurately and efficiently at ease
- Global HQ experience, able to understand and manage priorities of retail and head office
- Able to communicate at all levels within the brand in a professional way
- Ability to lead, manage and develop a team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills whilst able to prioritise workload accordingly
- An energetic, can do and positive attitude
- Remains calm under pressure and leads by example
ABOUT THE LOCATION
