Merchandiser – Montbell and Bedrock
We’re on the lookout for an omni-channel Merchandiser to join the Wisdom and Effort Team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play an instrumental part in growing Wisdom and Effort sales, across DTC online, in store & our wholesale partners.
The primary function of the role is to work in hand with the Brand Managers to maximise sales and profit, through effective inventory planning, trading & distribution across all customer touch points.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilising historic data & product trends to plan and implement product strategy for sales, profit and stock in line with agreed objectives and in line with current buying and selling cycles.
- To manage all elements of range planning, sales planning, space planning, profit planning and carry over stock.
- Ensure correct balance, depth and breadth of content within ranges in store and within the warehouse for online sales and replenishment.
- Ensure target cost and selling processes are met.
- Planning parameters for the business and delivering value.
- Ensuring product volumes are planned in line with selling period and sell through.
- To ensure amendments to the product/design brief are communicated effectively to online and in store teams and agreed in full.
- To review sales, space, stock, profit performance and trends to maximise sales and margin.
- To plan, in line with the range plan process, and manage promotions to agreed objectives including product, volume, timing, sales and margin; evaluate, review and react as required to maximise profit and sell through.
- To ensure optimum merchandise availability.
- To control co-ordination of ASAP (in-season) orders ensuring sales and intake are consistent with agreed stock levels and adjusted in line with over/under performance.
- To plan and manage inventory by month/division/profile, to ensure product volumes & delivery timing are in line with agreed objectives and planned as part of the range development process.
- To develop a thorough knowledge of the stores & competition, through store visits and wider discussions with the Wisdom and Effort team.
- Ownership of allocation and replenishment of stock.
- To manage all required product information ensuring details are updated as required.
- To manage and develop reports and KPIs to measure success, and share regular trade updates with key stakeholders.
- Agree brand seasonal budgets with key stakeholders and distribute across relevant categories using amassed data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in planning for future development and expansion.
- Ensure core product remains well stocked for DTC and wholesale.

- At least 3 years’ experience in Merchandising.
- Extensive understanding of product life cycle & merch processes.
- Ability to adapt to in-house forecasting tools and systems.
- A strong analytical and strategic mind.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent listening & questioning techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong commercial awareness in relation to retail.
- Be able to thrive as part of a team.
