About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Accessorize Merchandising team has come about. We are looking for an enthusiastic Merchandiser who has a passion for numbers & analysis and who loves working closely with product & leading a team, to join our Fine Jewellery department.

What will you do as Merchandiser for Accessorize?

  • Drive sales and profit by planning and managing product ranges across your departments.
  • Analyse trading performance, forecast demand and make key trading decisions on stock levels, intake and pricing, to ensure the product is in the right place at the right time.
  • Understand the customers needs by channel and use this information to make considered commercial decisions that positively impacts the profitability of the department.
  • Develop and recommend department strategy, working closely with the Buyer/Designer.
  • React quickly to trade while managing the critical path and optimizing stock availability across all store site types and digital channels.
  • Propose planning parameters for your product areas by analysing past, current, future and proposed season ranges and producing analysis to support this.
  • Manage and controls the Critical Path with the Buyer, to ensure deadlines are met and potential problems identified at line and product group level, clearly communicating to management, and suggesting necessary actions.
  • Work closely with the Buyer and Designer to implement a balanced range, ensuring it is representative of current trends, capture volume drivers and commercial to Accessorize.
  • Actively trade the department whilst continually reviewing changes in performance and taking appropriate actions to minimise impact and maximise profit.
  • Be clear and concise in all trading meetings and communicate well across all areas of the business to drive the dept strategy forward.
  • Manage KPI’s to maximise the net achieved margin.
  • Regularly review KPI’s ensuring that the BTA is realistic, highlighting changes to your Line Manager and Buyer, making recommendations where necessary.
  • Be passionate about developing people, with a keen interest in training, mentoring and coaching at MA and AM level.

What will you need to succeed as Merchandiser for Accessorize?

  • Previous Merchandising experience at Merchandiser or established Junior Merchandiser level
  • Strong analytical and trading skills using data to drive decisions
  • Ownership of dept strategy, aligning business and financial goals
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership, possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships across the business
  • Commercial awareness with strong understanding of pricing, margin and profit
  • Stock management and intake planning to optimize availability and minimize risk
  • Innovative and open to challenging existing processes and practices to drive the business forward
  • Experience in an omni channel business is highly desirable
  • Highly organized, good prioritization skills and self management
  • Forward thinking and innovative
  • Passionate about the Accessorize brand and customer
  • Strong system knowledge and WSSI management experience
