About Newlife
As one of the UK's leading charities providing essential specialist equipment to children with disabilities, Newlife is dedicated to making life better - for the families we serve, and for the people who help us to make that happen.
Through grants and emergency equipment loans, we ensure children get the vital equipment they need, when they need it, while our free nurse helpline offers crucial support and information – as well as a listening ear. Our campaigns help to give children with disabilities and their families a voice, advocating for change to benefit the families we serve.

What You'll Be Doing
Trading & Stock Management
- Own day-to-day stock trading using sales data and commercial judgement
- Act fast on strong sellers, replenishing high-demand stores
- Spot slow-moving stock early and take action
- Balance price, speed of sale and stock levels for best returns
- Line manage and develop an Assistant Merchandiser

Pricing & Commercial Decisions
- Set selling prices using market knowledge and sales performance
- Use markdowns strategically to improve sell-through
- Monitor competitor pricing to inform decisions
- Focus on overall financial return rather than individual prices
Store Relationships & Operations
- Build trusted relationships with Store Managers
- Visit stores regularly to understand local opportunities
- Work closely with warehouse teams to prevent stock build-up
- Get hands-on when needed to solve operational issues
Analysis & Communication
- Provide action-focused trading updates highlighting risks and opportunities
- Track results of pricing decisions to improve future choices
- Contribute commercially-sound insights to financial planning
What You'll Bring
- Previous merchandising or stock trading experience in fast-paced retail, outlet, or multi-site environment
- Strong trading instincts: able to interpret data and take action
- Commercial confidence and ability to make decisions at pace
- Strong relationship-building skills with store and operational teams
- Experience line managing or coaching team members in merchandising or retail
- Practical, roll-your-sleeves-up attitude
- Commitment to working in line with Newlife's values and behaviour framework
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- Experience using WSSI and inventory or merchandising systems
