About the Role

Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.

Fortnum & Mason is seeking a commercially driven and detail-oriented Merchandiser to oversee the performance of our Fragrance & Beauty categories. This role is responsible for delivering profitable growth through effective planning, trading, and stock management, whilst preserving the heritage, creativity, and luxury standards synonymous with the Fortnum & Mason brand.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Buying, Retail, and E-commerce teams to curate compelling assortments that delight customers and drive sales across both in-store and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Commercial Performance

  • Own and manage the trading performance of Fragrance & Beauty categories, delivering against sales, margin, and stock targets.
  • Regularly review KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities, and take proactive action to optimise performance.
  • Lead weekly and seasonal trade reviews, providing insight-driven recommendations.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain robust category forecasts, OTB (Open-to-Buy), and WSSI plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure optimal availability whilst minimising markdown risk.
  • Drive balanced assortments across core, seasonal, and exclusive ranges.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
