Job Description

About Seraphine

Redefining maternity wear for a new generation, Seraphine’s collections are intelligently designed and developed in London to help women maintain their sense of self – and style –through pregnancy. Inspired by the fashion landscape, these trend-led pieces are full of hidden details that allow the fit to cleverly adapt to the changing needs of pregnancy and breastfeeding – always working with a woman's body, rather than against it.

Role Purpose

To maximise the profitability of the department by leading a team, working with the Buyer and suppliers to strategically plan, build, and trade commercial product ranges. The role ensures the business plan is achieved by having the right product, in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantities.

Role Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute the department strategy with your Buyer/Designer to maximise profit, by understanding customer needs and utilising strong knowledge of competitor product, pricing, and trading activity
  • Formulate and propose planning parameters by analysing past and proposed season ranges, considering the impact of sales contribution by channel
  • Manage and control the Critical Path for each phase with your Buyer, ensuring deadlines are met and proactively communicating any impact on launch position and actions taken
  • Ensure range balance by working with your Buyer, Designer, and Technologist, optimising the use of trials and stock buys, and ensuring commerciality to the brand
  • Appraise and develop suppliers in conjunction with the Buyer to maintain a strong supply base

Trading & Forecasting

  • Actively trade the department by continually reviewing performance and potentialising emerging trends to maximise profit and minimise risk
  • Manage weekly/monthly forecasts (WSSI), clearly communicating changes/impact on stock position, and controlling intake with the Buying and Technical teams to achieve optimum stock levels and minimise markdown
  • Control the intake margin to achieve plan, ensuring all orders are entered accurately and authorised promptly according to the Critical Path
  • Oversee the execution of markdowns and promotions within agreed parameters, accurately forecasting the effect on sales, stocks, and profit
  • Monitor and analyse KPI’s including returns rates and attribute analysis (sizing, price, colour), making recommendations to adjust future buys where necessary

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
