We’re looking for a highly analytical, commercially minded and proactive Merchandising Assistant to join our growing team. Reporting to our Merchandising Manager, this is a key role within the business, supporting the planning, forecasting and trading of product categories to deliver sales, profit and stock targets.

You’ll play an important role in helping the business understand and improve product performance by providing accurate reporting, commercial insights and actionable recommendations. Working closely with our Buying, E-Commerce, and Operations teams, you’ll help ensure the right products are available at the right time, while supporting effective stock management and profitable growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious merchandising professional who wants to develop their career within a fast-paced, growing retail business. You'll have the opportunity to influence trading decisions, improve processes, support seasonal planning and contribute to the continued success of the merchandising function.

What You'll Do

  • Support our Merchandiser in planning, forecasting and trading product categories to achieve sales, profit and stock targets.
  • Produce and analyse weekly trading reports, identifying risks and opportunities and making recommendations to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Monitor sales performance, stock levels and intake, reforecasting demand and optimising stock availability throughout the season.
  • Manage purchase orders, deliveries and supplier critical paths, ensuring products are delivered on time and resolving any supply chain issues.
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics partners and internal teams to monitor product flow and maintain stock availability.
  • Analyse category performance, sell-through rates and stock holdings to support range planning, blanket orders and strategic stock decisions.
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting on trading performance, highlighting key trends, issues and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Buying and wider business functions on seasonal planning, budgeting and the development of commercially balanced product ranges.
  • Support markdown, promotional and stock management activities to optimise sales and margin performance.
  • Maintain accurate merchandising data, stock records and systems to support effective decision-making across the business.
  • Assist with merchandising projects and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to drive efficiencies and enhance reporting capabilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
