Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and creative Merchandising & Digital Marketing Administrator to support the promotion, presentation, and commercial performance of Somerset Larder's retail and catering operations at Hinkley Point C.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating merchandising and menu compliance activities, creating accurate labelling, digital menu and marketing content, maintaining brand standards, and supporting promotional campaigns that drive customer engagement, sales, and awareness across multiple channels.

This role combines administrative excellence with creativity, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for customer experience and marketing.

Merchandising:

  • Support the planning and execution of merchandising initiatives across retail outlets and catering locations.
  • Ensure promotional materials, point-of-sale displays, signage, and product presentations are maintained to a high standard.
  • Coordinate seasonal campaigns, product launches, and themed events and ensuring they translate to the shop floor and counters.
  • Monitor stock presentation, planograms and visual merchandising compliance across locations.
  • Assist with analysing sales performance and customer purchasing trends to identify merchandising opportunities.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain promotional assets and product information.
  • Maintain accurate records of merchandising plans, promotional calendars, and campaign activity.

Digital Marketing:

  • Create weekly digital menus and labels for compliance and accuracy in food safety legislations, KPIs and service level agreements.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of marketing campaigns to promote retail offers, catering themes, sustainability initiatives, and local supplier partnerships.
  • Produce marketing materials including graphics, posters, digital advertisements, and promotional communications for retail and other catering themes.
  • Update HPC Link & internal website digital content to ensure information remains accurate and relevant.
  • Monitor digital engagement metrics and prepare reports on campaign performance.
  • Support photography and content creation activities across Somerset Larder operations.
  • Ensure all communications align with brand guidelines and company values.

Administration:

  • Maintain and deliver accurate food labelling, ensuring all legal and project compliance is met including, but not limited to, allergens, nutritionals, KCAL.
  • Maintain marketing databases, content libraries, and campaign records.
  • Coordinate supplier information, artwork approvals, and marketing collateral requests.
  • Assist with budget tracking, purchase orders, and invoice administration where required.
  • Support event planning and promotional activities across the business.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and performance summaries for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and site security requirements.

Working Arrangements

  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and attend meetings or events as required.
  • Occasional out-of-hours working may be required to support business activities and campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification.
  • A current, sound knowledge and awareness of the key issues affecting the high street and retail industry in its entirety, including those pertinent and particular to this role and its organisational environment.
  • A working knowledge of operational compliance for Health & Safety Regulations related to retail and catering business operations, including an up-to-date knowledge of the latest requirements.
  • Sound written communication skills commensurate with the requirements the post.
  • IT literate with a good understanding of industry –relevant software systems and processes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of readily accepting individual accountability and effective use of initiative.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload in meeting requirements/deadlines on a similar scope and scope.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in merchandising, marketing, retail administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience managing digital content and internal or external social media platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visual presentation and branding.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within retail, hospitality, catering, or food service sectors.
  • Knowledge of graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of digital marketing analytics and reporting.
  • Experience coordinating events or promotional campaigns.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and email marketing platforms.

Pre-Employment Screening
