Company Description

Hahnbeck is a specialist international M&A advisory firm focused entirely on consumer businesses. We advise founders and families on the most important transaction of their lives, from outstanding high-growth DTC brands, to long-established family businesses with recognised brand names and decades of profitability. Our expertise spans health, wellness, nutrition, VMS, food, beverage, beauty, personal care, pet, outdoor, apparel and more, as well as sectors adjacent to consumer (such as software, packaging, contract manufacturing and the agencies that support e-commerce and retail businesses).

Our clients choose Hahnbeck over larger investment banks because they get sustained senior attention from start to finish and an adviser that genuinely cares about the outcome. We combine deep consumer-sector expertise with rigorous buyer research, proprietary buyer and private-equity intelligence, and careful transaction judgement.

Many of our clients and buyers are in the US, some are in Europe and Asia, so a lot of our work is cross-border.

We are a small team, so this hire matters. You will work directly with the partners and senior dealmakers on live mandates from day one.

The Role

You will play a central role in executing smaller transactions for consumer and e-commerce businesses, while supporting and being heavily involved in larger ones. You will work extensively on US deals alongside deals in the UK and Europe, dealing directly with US founders, strategic acquirers and private equity buyers. You will be trusted with real responsibility early, and your work will be seen by clients, buyers and investors.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses and transaction comparables for consumer businesses
  • Analyse company financials, unit economics and channel performance
  • Prepare businesses for sale: restate P&Ls, build contribution-margin and adjusted EBITDA analysis, and spot issues buyers will raise
  • Draft and develop teasers, confidential information memoranda, management presentations and buyer materials
  • Research and map strategic acquirers, private equity firms and family offices, using our proprietary buyer intelligence tools
  • Support buyer outreach, run data rooms and coordinate due diligence across clients, buyers and advisers
  • Help evaluate offers and LOIs, and support negotiation and deal structuring, including earnouts and rollover equity
  • Work closely with founders and their teams, often at a stressful and emotional moment for them
  • Contribute to business development, sector research and thought leadership on consumer M&A

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
