About the Company

As part of our UK and European BESS investment team, you will support the origination, evaluation and execution of energy storage investment opportunities, with a particular focus on standalone and co-located BESS projects. Working closely with colleagues across Development, EPC, Finance, Legal, Tax and Strategy functions in both Europe and China, you will play a key role in transaction execution, due diligence, financial analysis and preparation of investment recommendations.

About the Role

This role offers exposure to a broad range of energy storage investments across the UK and Europe, supporting transactions from origination through to closing and portfolio transition. The successful candidate will gain experience across complex cross-border transactions, sophisticated financial analysis and direct interaction with senior stakeholders, developers, lenders and advisers.

Responsibilities

Deal Origination & Screening

  • Support the identification and screening of new BESS investment opportunities through developers, brokers, internal teams and direct market outreach.
  • Conduct market and regulatory research on the UK and European energy storage sector, including power markets, ancillary services, capacity market mechanisms and emerging policy developments.
  • Review project opportunities against the company’s investment strategy, target returns and risk parameters.

Financial Analysis & Valuation

  • Prepare initial investment summaries and recommendation materials for internal discussion.
  • Perform valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow, comparable transaction and sensitivity analysis.
  • Analyse project assumptions, revenue drivers, downside scenarios and investment risks.
  • Support preparation of internal approval papers, investment committee materials and management presentations.

Due Diligence & Transaction Execution

  • Coordinate and support the due diligence process across technical, legal, financial, tax, ESG, land, permitting and grid workstreams.
  • Manage data room setup, document organisation and information requests.
  • Coordinate with external advisers, including legal, technical, commercial and tax advisers.
  • Maintain due diligence trackers, issue logs, transaction timetables and risk registers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
