M&A Technology Manager / Senior Manager – Manchester
Manchester | Permanent / Fixed-Term Contract | Hybrid Working
We are working with a leading global professional services and advisory business that is seeking an experienced M&A Technology professional to join its market-leading Transactions team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Manager or Senior Manager to work on some of the largest and most complex transactions in the UK and internationally, advising corporates, private equity firms and financial investors throughout the full M&A lifecycle.
You’ll gain significant exposure to senior stakeholders while developing your leadership, commercial, consulting and technology advisory expertise across high-profile transactions.
The Role
As an M&A Technology Manager / Senior Manager, you’ll lead and contribute to complex technology assignments across buy-side, sell-side, IPO, refinancing, integration and separation engagements.
You’ll take ownership of key workstreams and client relationships, providing commercially focused insight into technology environments and their role in the wider transaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage pre-deal, post-deal and separation engagements across a range of sectors, including private equity and corporate clients.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality IT due diligence, transaction reports and other advisory deliverables.
- Provide Programme Management Office leadership across technology workstreams.
- Engage with senior client stakeholders to drive actions, manage risks and issues, and facilitate key decision-making.
- Analyse IT information including technology costs, contracts, operating models and qualitative data.
- Lead the development of Transitional Service Agreements, SteerCo materials, status reports and strategic recommendations.
- Identify technology synergies, one-off costs and ongoing technology costs.
- Lead workshops and develop expertise across benefits tracking, change control and stakeholder management.
- Provide commercially focused recommendations based on robust technology analysis.
- Coach and develop junior team members, supporting a high-performing and inclusive team culture.
- Contribute to business development, proposals and thought leadership initiatives.
- Take ownership of quality, risk management and client delivery.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced technology professional with a strong understanding of how IT operates within a business environment and proven experience in M&A transactions.
Essential experience includes:
- Experience in IT due diligence, M&A technology, post-merger integration, separation or carve-out assignments.
- Strong knowledge of one or more core IT disciplines, such as IT strategy and governance, enterprise architecture, applications, systems integration, infrastructure, service delivery or IT financials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working with senior-level stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- The ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, transaction-focused environment.

- IT experience gained within industry, consulting or professional services.
- Private equity and/or corporate transaction experience.
- Business model analysis and target operating model development.
- Technology programme or project delivery.
- Change management and transformation initiatives.
- IT cost modelling and synergy analysis.
