Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a MES Technical Project Manager to be based at our office/ our customer’s site in Warwick.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Technical Project Manager with 15+ years of experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Smart Factory solutions, and Industrial Digital Transformation programs.
The ideal candidate must possess deep expertise in GE Proficy Plant Applications, Proficy Smart Factory, manufacturing operations, system integrations, and large-scale MES deployments across multiple manufacturing sites. This role requires a strong blend of technical leadership, project management excellence, stakeholder management, and delivery governance.
The candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end MES implementation programs, ensuring milestones are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives while maintaining complete visibility of project risks, dependencies, and technical challenges.
Area of Responsibility
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead large-scale MES and Smart Manufacturing implementation programs from initiation through go-live and hypercare.
- Own project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and delivery commitments.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, RAID logs, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
- Ensure all project milestones and deliverables are achieved according to agreed timelines.
- Drive weekly governance reviews, steering committee meetings, and executive reporting.
- Manage cross-functional teams including Solution Architects, Developers, Infrastructure Teams, Automation Engineers, QA Teams, and Business Stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and delivery standards.

Technical Leadership
- Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout MES implementation lifecycle.
- Review and validate solution architecture, functional design documents, technical specifications, and deployment strategies.
- Understand and challenge technical decisions where required.
- Ensure technical solutions align with manufacturing business processes and operational objectives.
- Support troubleshooting of critical production and implementation issues.
- Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and architecture governance sessions.

- Manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.

- Ensure change requests are evaluated and managed effectively.
- Monitor project financials and resource utilization.

Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in MES, MOM, Manufacturing IT, or Smart Factory implementations.
- Managing large-scale MES delivery programs.
- Proven experience delivering multi-site MES deployments globally.
- Strong experience managing offshore and onsite delivery teams.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects exceeding £1M in value.
