Role Description
The MET Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bolton. Day-to-day responsibilities include the mechanical, electrical, and trim removal and refitting of vehicle components as part of body repair work. The MET Technician will diagnose faults, assess damage, and identify parts and systems that require repair or replacement, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The role involves working closely with paint and panel technicians, following job cards and repair methods, and updating estimators or supervisors on progress. The MET Technician is expected to maintain a clean and safe working environment, use tools and diagnostic equipment correctly, and contribute to efficient workshop operations and high-quality customer outcomes.

Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical vehicle repair skills, including fault diagnosis and component removal/refitting.
- Experience with trim work, interior and exterior fittings, and working to manufacturer repair methods.
- Ability to read and interpret job cards, technical data, and repair documentation accurately.
- Good attention to detail, high quality standards, and commitment to safe working practices.
- ATA Accreditation or MET qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) is essential.
- Previous experience in a body shop or accident repair center is desirable.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a workshop team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines and performance targets.
