MET Technician Role
MET Technician role with a prominent UK motor retail group. Great basic salary, realistic bonus structures, overtime and career progression opportunities.
Must Have:
- The right to work in the UK
- A full UK driving licence
Location: Bury St. Edmunds
Pay / Salary: Up to £40,000 basic salary per annum, plus uncapped bonus, OTE £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent / full-time role
Shift and Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (including a 30-minute lunch break)

The employer operates a highly successful network of modern dealerships and accident repair centres across the UK. By joining this tight-knit, fast-paced bodyshop environment, you will be part of a team focused on safety, strict manufacturer guidelines, and premium repair quality.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven history working as an MET Technician inside a professional accident repair centre or busy bodyshop environment.
- Relevant industry qualifications (such as NVQ Level 3, ATA, IMI, or City & Guilds) are highly desirable but equal weight is given to solid, hands-on mechanical and trim experience.
Job Responsibilities for the MET Technician role:
- Executing complex mechanical, trim, and electrical strip and fit processes on accident-damaged vehicles.
- Dismantling, preparing, and rebuilding vehicle body components, trims, and interior panels back to factory specifications.
- Utilizing diagnostic equipment to identify automotive faults, check electrical errors, and clear vehicle codes.
- Running precise four-wheel alignment tests and mechanical adjustments to guarantee roadworthiness.
- Documenting all workflow processes accurately on internal systems and workshop job cards.
- Highlighting any hidden structural or mechanical damage directly to the estimating team for supplemental approval.
