Role Description
The MET Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, focused on the mechanical, electrical, and trim repair of vehicles following accidents. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Removing and refitting vehicle components
- Ensuring all work meets manufacturer and insurance standards

The MET Technician will work closely with body repair and paint teams to coordinate repair schedules, maintain accurate job records, and support efficient workshop throughput. The role also involves:
- Using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Following health and safety procedures
- Contributing to a clean, organized work environment
Consistent, high-quality workmanship and a customer-focused mindset are essential.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, with experience in vehicle systems and component repair.
- Proficiency in removing, refitting, and aligning trim, panels, and interior components to manufacturer standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, repair methods, and vehicle manuals.
- Competence in using workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring devices safely and accurately.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and compliance procedures within an automotive workshop environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with body, paint, and administration teams.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work to deadlines and quality targets.
- Recognized automotive or MET qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and previous experience in accident repair or a similar workshop setting.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to adapt to evolving repair technologies and training requirements.
