MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician)
Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + bonus (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About our client
They are a busy and growing accident repair centre committed to delivering high-quality vehicle repairs and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking an experienced MET Technician to join our professional workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking to develop their career within a modern and fast-paced bodyshop environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to pre-accident condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on a variety of vehicles.
- Diagnose and identify damaged components requiring repair or replacement.
- Carry out strip and fit operations in line with manufacturer repair methods.
- Remove and refit bumpers, dashboards, lighting systems, steering and suspension components.
- Carry out vehicle diagnostics and system resets where required.
- Ensure all electrical systems, safety features and components function correctly following repair.
- Assist with vehicle assessments and damage identification.
- Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and trim systems.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding techniques.
- Ability to work to manufacturer repair methods and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills.

Desirable
- IMI, ATA or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Repair or equivalent.
- Experience working within a BS10125-approved repair environment.
- ADAS calibration experience.
- Hybrid and electric vehicle awareness or qualifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
