Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Salary: Up to £40,000 basic, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Overtime: Available and paid at a flat rate

ISQ Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced MET Technician / Stripper & Fitter to join a well-established automotive accident repair business in Weston-super-Mare.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully skilled MET Technician, Bodyshop Technician, or Stripper & Fitter who can confidently remove, refit, and replace mechanical, electrical, and trim components across a varied range of vehicles.
You will join a busy workshop working on a mixture of cars, light commercial vehicles, and fleet vehicles, completing strip and fit work to a consistently high standard.
The Role
As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for dismantling vehicles before repair, identifying damaged components, and rebuilding vehicles once panel and paint work has been completed.
You will work closely with Panel Beaters, Vehicle Painters, and other members of the bodyshop team to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the repair process and are completed safely, accurately, and on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components
- Strip vehicles ahead of panel and paint repairs
- Reassemble vehicles following accident repair work
- Remove and replace bumpers, trims, doors, panels, lighting, and interior components
- Complete basic mechanical and electrical repairs where required
- Identify additional damage during the strip-down process
- Report required parts and repair concerns to the workshop team
- Ensure all components are stored, labelled, and protected correctly
- Carry out final checks following vehicle reassembly
- Confirm electrical systems, lighting, and safety features operate correctly
- Work on cars, fleet vehicles, and light commercial vehicles
- Maintain accurate job card and repair information
- Keep tools and working areas clean, organised, and safe
- Follow all health, safety, and manufacturer repair procedures
- Support the wider bodyshop team to maintain an efficient workflow
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an MET Technician, Stripper & Fitter, Bodyshop Technician, or similar
- Strong experience removing and refitting vehicle components
- Good mechanical, electrical, and trim knowledge
- The ability to work confidently across different vehicle makes and models
- Experience working within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
- The ability to identify hidden or additional damage
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider repair team
- A reliable and organised approach
- A full UK driving licence
