The facilities include in-house plasma cutting, coded welding, and a fully equipped machine shop with 3- and 4-axis CNC machining centres, supported by a dedicated paint and finishing facility for full control of quality and turnaround times. Landon Engineering serves customers in Infrastructure, Green Energy, Rail, Waste-to-Energy, Oil & Gas, and Defence, working to ISO 9001 and EN 1090 standards and supporting projects from concept through to production and installation.

Role Description
The Metal Fabricator role is a full-time, on-site position based at Landon Engineering’s facilities in Staffordshire. The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating heavy and precision-engineered metal structures, interpreting technical drawings, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling components to exact specifications. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Operating metalworking machinery and hand tools
- Performing grinding and finishing operations
- Using power tools to prepare and complete welded or bolted assemblies
- Working closely with engineers and other fabricators to maintain production schedules
- Following health and safety procedures
- Supporting quality checks to ensure all work meets industry standards and customer requirements

- Strong metalworking skills, including experience with fabrication of heavy and precision-engineered structures
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
- Experience with grinding and finishing processes to achieve accurate dimensions and surface quality
- Forklift operation skills or willingness to obtain relevant certification for safe material handling
- Relevant qualifications such as an apprenticeship or vocational training in fabrication, welding, or mechanical engineering are beneficial
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, follow ISO-compliant procedures, and maintain high standards of safety and quality
- Previous experience in a fabrication workshop or engineering environment, ideally serving industrial sectors such as infrastructure or energy, is an advantage
