At Optimised, we help organisations take control of energy, utilities and sustainability performance – reducing cost, carbon and operational complexity at scale.
We’re looking for an experienced and organised Metering Operations Manager to lead the operational delivery of our growing metering services, ensuring survey and installation programmes are planned, coordinated and delivered effectively.
As demand for our metering services continues to grow, this role will play a central part in ensuring work flows efficiently through the business, from initial assessment and survey through to installation, commissioning and completion. You’ll oversee multiple concurrent projects, manage resources and provide clear direction to project management and engineering teams to ensure we consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who combines strong organisational and people management skills with a practical understanding of metering systems and building technologies. You’ll work closely with colleagues across delivery, governance and administration, as well as strategic customers, to ensure programmes are delivered in line with requirements and result in compliant, fully operational and data-ready metering systems.
If you’re a proactive operational leader who enjoys coordinating complex delivery, developing teams and using your technical knowledge to keep projects moving, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity
As the Metering Operations Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing the operational delivery of Optimised’s metering services, managing survey and installation activities to ensure work is planned, coordinated and delivered effectively from initial assessment through to completion.
Reporting to the Head of Energy Management, the role sits within the delivery function and is responsible for how metering work flows through the business on a day-to-day basis. This includes managing survey activity, coordinating installation delivery, and ensuring work progresses in a structured and efficient way across multiple projects and clients.
The Metering Operations Manager provides leadership and direction to both project management and engineering roles within the team, ensuring resources are effectively structured, supported and aligned to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple concurrent projects. Application of a practical understanding of metering systems, communication protocols (such as Modbus, M-Bus and BACnet) and their interaction with building systems will successfully support effective operational planning and delivery.
The role also works alongside governance and administration teams to ensure that metering activities are completed in line with industry processes and internal standards, resulting in compliant, fully operational and data-ready metering systems. Acting as a key operational interface for strategic customers, you will help to align delivery approaches with client requirements and support the consistent and effective delivery of metering programmes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
