CMM Programmer / Inspector | Automotive / Motorsport | West Midlands
Are you an experienced CMM Programmer / Inspector looking for your next opportunity within a highly technical engineering environment?
We’re working with an established engineering business supplying high-performance, precision components into the automotive and motorsport sectors, and they’re looking for a skilled CMM Programmer / Inspector to join their Quality team.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for programming and operating CMM equipment, carrying out inspection activities and supporting the wider engineering and quality teams to ensure components meet the required standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Programming and operating CMM equipment
- Creating inspection reports and ISIR documentation against engineering drawings
- Carrying out dimensional inspection using CMMs and manual measuring equipment
- Verifying supplier ISIRs, including dimensional and material requirements
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Investigating dimensional/product issues and liaising with Engineering, SQA and Quality teams
- Maintaining accurate inspection records and documentation
- Supporting wider quality and measurement activities across the business

What we're looking for
- Previous experience working within an inspection/quality environment
- Strong CMM programming experience
- PC-DMIS experience preferred; Zeiss Calypso also considered
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometres and shadowgraphs
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
