Role Overview
We are hiring a Metrology Technician to join our Quality team at Lexington Medical, Inc. in Bedford, MA. In this role, you will develop, modify, and maintain automated inspection programs using OGP SmartScope systems to ensure incoming and manufactured components meet engineering specifications and dimensional requirements.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on OGP inspection programming, dimensional metrology, and GD&T interpretation. You will translate engineering drawings into reliable, repeatable inspection routines and work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to support component inspection and production.

Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain OGP SmartScope inspection programs for incoming and manufactured components.
- Translate engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements into accurate, repeatable inspection routines.
- Establish datums, alignments, measurement strategies, and optical inspection parameters, including lighting, magnification, focus, and edge detection.
- Develop and document fixtures and setup methods to ensure consistent component inspection.
- Validate, troubleshoot, and optimize OGP programs for accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Revise inspection programs as drawings, specifications, and component revisions change.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to support dimensional inspection and resolve measurement issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in metrology, quality, manufacturing, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in dimensional inspection, metrology, or quality control.
- Hands-on experience creating or modifying OGP SmartScope inspection programs strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with optical or automated dimensional inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Medical device or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

Location & Work Arrangement
This position is based in Bedford, Massachusetts (near Boston) and is an onsite role.

Hourly Rate
$30—$40 USD
