Metrology Engineer - Nights
We’re looking for a skilled Metrology Engineer to support our Quality and Manufacturing teams. You’ll provide full metrology services across NPI, product investigations, capability studies, and process validation. Working nights Monday to Thursday 22:00 - 5:45 and Friday 16:00 - 20:50.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement new metrology solutions.
- Create and manage CMM and vision system programs.
- Support new measurement activities and produce related documentation.
- Perform first article inspections and reporting.
- Calibrate gauges and measurement equipment.
- Work to ISO13485, GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
- Support CAPA activities within required timelines.
About You
- Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or strong inspection experience.
- Excellent understanding of measurement techniques and first-principle metrology.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Competent with CMMs, vision systems, and inspection tools (MCOSMOS desirable).
- Strong problem-solving and report-writing skills.
- Accurate, organised, proactive, and confident working independently or in a team.
- The ability to identify, analyze and resolve measurement issues and generate solutions.
- The ability to make informed decisions in relation to conformity.
- The ability to create Technical Reports.
- Experience of working in Medical, Orthopaedic or a highly regulated industry (desirable).
