Micro-Perf Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Hourly – Non-exempt

Shift:

2nd shift – 3:15pm to 1:45am

Shift

Monday to Thursday 4/10, overtime on Friday/Saturday

Benefits

Sign-on Bonus:

$1,000 TOTAL = $500 @ 3 months AND $500 @ 9 months of service.

Job Output:

  • The Micro-Perf Machine Operator is responsible for safely producing quality perforated wood veneer and high-pressure laminate products made through our Micro-Perf Machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Production needs include but are not limited to customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of self as well as all associates within the facility.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
  • Oversee the operation of the Micro-Perf Machine, ensuring safe work practices as well as keeping the work area a safe work environment for all that work or enter the area.
  • Ability to communicate with a team to ensure safety, quality and delivery expectations are met.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork coming into and leaving from the Micro-Perf Machine.

Specific Skills Required:

Microperf Operator:

  • Capable of understanding MD’s, Set-up-sheets, Purchase Orders and Take-Off’s.
  • Able to identify cut, match, and species of veneer.
  • Capable of setting up the machine without help.
  • Good sense of quality and able to identify imperfections in veneer.
  • Able to tell when veneer color is out of range.

Microperf Technician:

In addition to proficiency in all above-mentioned operator skills, Technician skill requirements include:

  • Being responsible for properly greasing and maintaining the machine.
  • Knowledge on how to replace broken pins and identify the reason they broke.
  • Capable of disassembling / reassembling entire tooling.
  • Understanding how the machine operates and ability to make fine-tune adjustments.
  • Knowledge of process required for scheduling sharpening and preparing the tooling to be sharpened.

Required

  • Ability to read, understand and follow Purchase Orders, Standard Work Sheets, Manufacturing Drawings, Routers and Travelers.
  • Must be able to start up, shut down and make machine adjustments.
  • Must be able to retain information and follow instructions.

  • Must be able to read & understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Desired

  • Some knowledge of wood products and finishing preferred.
  • 1-3 years of past manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to occasional hot/cold temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE at this time: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes and other department PPE. Other PPE available upon request.

This position is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. PPE as required.
