*Please note: Although this is not currently a live role, we are looking for individuals who are based in or around the GSK site in Barnard Castle, as these roles are based there.

What We’re Looking For

We want to connect with Microbiological Technologists who demonstrate expertise in a broad range of core skills and experience, including but not limited to:

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of cGMP and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience in environmental monitoring within sterile production environments.
  • An understanding of cleanroom classification, validation and qualification processes.
  • Experience delivering training or technical support to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different departments.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing business requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and best practice.

What You Might Be Doing

As a Microbiological Technologist at GSK, you could get involved with:

  • Performing environmental monitoring of aseptic and terminally sterilised facilities in line with GMP requirements and defined sampling schedules.
  • Supporting shutdown classification and requalification activities, including ISO area qualification, HEPA filter testing and air exchange rate verification.
  • Assisting with the coordination, reading, review and documentation of aseptic simulation trials.
  • Delivering and assessing aseptic microbiology training for new operators across Production, Cleaning and Engineering teams.
  • Carrying out routine water sampling and testing, including Water for Injection and clean steam used in production processes.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support aseptic standards and best practices.
  • Supporting changing operational requirements, which may include scheduled overtime or alternative working patterns depending on the opportunity.

The exact responsibilities, contract duration and working arrangements will be confirmed when a suitable vacancy becomes available.
