We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Technician to join our laboratory team at our Gargrave Manufacturing Site.
Responsibilities
- Microbiological testing of finished good products and WIP material manufactured on site.
- Microbiological testing of bought in finished products where necessary.
- Support/cover for raw material testing.
- Sterility testing of FG products manufactured on site.
- Dose audit testing of customer products.
- Non-routine testing as required, including report preparation.
- Media making.
- Sampling and testing of purified & USP waters around site, including sending off samples for chemistry analysis at external contracted laboratories.
- Prioritization of workload.
- Liaising with other departments regarding priority testing/ release.
- General lab duties (housekeeping, temperature checks, growth promotion testing etc).
- Gram-staining of bacterial colonies including sub-culturing and sending off for further identification to an external contractor.
- Use of Excel to prepare performance metrics and reports.
- Tracking and trending of data.
- Execution of environmental monitoring as per schedule.
- Timely execution of internal calibration for microbiology equipment.
- Documentation reviews and updates; document control, records management.
- Investigations of Microbiology related excursions.
- Health and safety representative for the laboratory.
- Raise and complete NCR’s as required.
- Execution of cross-lab audits as per schedule
- Comply with site Health and Safety procedures.
- Apply Company values and operate in an open and ethical manner.

- Degree of Microbiology or a related discipline.
- Knowledge on aseptic techniques and general laboratory skills.
- 1 year experience in micro lab.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-13:00
