Microsoft 365 / AI Workflow Consultant (Contract)

About the Role

A leading construction and civil engineering firm is looking for an experienced consultant to join the team and help drive the next phase of its AI and digital transformation. This person will work closely with the business to understand current processes, improve workflows, and implement practical AI, automation, and reporting solutions using existing Microsoft tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and improve operational workflows across the business
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand day-to-day processes
  • Build automation using Power Automate
  • Develop dashboards and reporting in Power BI
  • Help optimise and extend use of Microsoft 365 AI tools, including Copilot
  • Support SharePoint and process-alignment work already underway
  • Make practical recommendations for improvement from within the business
  • Assess how external IT systems and internal data can feed into reporting and workflow improvements

Required Experience

  • Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI and Power Automate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot / 365 AI tools
  • Up-to-date knowledge of AI and LLMs, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok
  • Strong awareness of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and practical business applications
  • Minimum 3+ years’ relevant experience
  • Very strong experience improving business processes through new workflows, automation, and dashboards
  • Able to embed into a team and deliver quickly
  • Comfortable working with existing systems rather than introducing a separate platform

Preferred Profile

  • Contractor/interim or consulting background preferred
  • Practical, delivery-focused, and able to hit the ground running
  • Experience building dashboards, automation, and process improvements in live business environments
