Microsoft 365 Engineer
We are looking for an experienced, senior-level Microsoft 365 Engineer to help us get the most out of our Microsoft 365 investment. The candidate will be a thought leader with Microsoft 365 and will provide SME level expertise regarding the security, planning, design, implementation, migration, and support of messaging and communications solutions. Champion the adoption and integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, directly helping to drive innovation and enabling AI-driven productivity and automation across Client business units. Works as part of a team to identify requirements and make recommendations regarding governance, compliance, security, and best practices. Collaborates with business partners to come up with solutions to address current and future business needs. Provides strategic input for long-term application direction. Monitors and maintains compliance with Enterprise Architecture, Technology Standards, and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning. Candidate is comfortable collaborating with engineers as well as making presentations to Sr. management. They should be a team player, great communicator, insatiable learner, and business-value oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and provide expert-level experience with the design and implementation of Microsoft 365 and M365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Exchange Online, M365 Copilot, etc.) in a global enterprise environment
- Deliver high-level and low-level design artifacts, aligned to engineering best practices
- Play a key role in M365 Governance Program, leads committee meetings, and provides expert guidance in decision-making process
- Maintain up-to-date and deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 and broader Microsoft 365 services, security features, and licensing entitlements
- Serve as a Line 1 security expert for Microsoft 365. Design and implement solutions that exceed Client’s security requirements. Ensures security, governance, and compliance for the Microsoft 365 platform and integrations with compliance journaling platforms
- Monitor Copilot feature releases, roadmap updates, and industry trends to proactively recommend enhancements and ensure Client remains at the forefront of Microsoft 365 AI innovation
- Design and manage the execution of test plans to ensure that high quality, functional solutions are delivered
- Ensure backup and disaster recovery requirements are met for M365 platform, and design improved mailflow and compliance retention capabilities
- Responsible for leadership and delivery of project-based assignments that encompass system architecture, proof-of-concept, and deployment services
- Clearly document all work in a clear and concise manner
- Monitor service updates and roadmaps to evaluate and test new solutions or changes and improvements to existing
- Identify, research, and keep apprised of emerging cloud technologies, solutions, strategies, and developments with the goal of identifying opportunities for their use
- Communicate and educate the technical and business communities on current architectures, technologies, and industry trends
- Recognized as an expert within the organization both within and beyond own function. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends process, product, or service improvements. Contributes to the development of functional strategy

- Experience in solutions development using Microsoft platforms with extensive experience in design, architecture, and deployment of messaging solutions
- Good experience serving as an SME for Microsoft 365 security, architecture and design including Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Intune, Azure AD, ADFS, OneDrive, etc. in an enterprise environment
- Good experience architecting, deploying, migrating to online M365 services
- Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio in a large enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, data privacy, and compliance considerations related to Copilot and generative AI in regulated industries
- Architectural proficiency with M365 Hybrid designs and M365 security protection suites
- Strong communication skills in dealing with various stakeholders both technical and functional
- Microsoft and security certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Admin Expert, etc. preferred
- Demonstrated ability to present high-level design and roadmap to senior leaders and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineers on implementation planning and successful execution of projects
