Microsoft 365 Platform Consultant (Licensing & Governance)

Ownership role for the full Microsoft 365 estate within an established, cloud-first business

Licensing, governance and platform oversight across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online and Copilot

Belfast, hybrid working

Salary £40,000 to £60,000, depending on experience

UK work authorisation required

About the Company

Our client is a well-established organisation with Microsoft 365 at the centre of how the business works day to day. With a growing user base, an expanding Microsoft footprint and increasing scrutiny on software spend, they are creating a dedicated role to take genuine ownership of the platform rather than leaving it split across IT support and infrastructure. This is an opportunity to shape how a business of scale runs, governs and buys Microsoft technology.

The Role

A hands-on ownership position with end-to-end responsibility for the Microsoft 365 suite. You will be the internal authority on the platform: managing licensing and renewals, evaluating new Microsoft offerings as they land, setting the policies and standards that govern usage, and staying close enough to the technology to configure, troubleshoot and advise when needed. This suits someone from a systems engineering, M365 administration or software asset management background who wants to step beyond ticket queues into strategic ownership, without losing their technical edge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Microsoft 365 estate end to end, including Exchange Online (Outlook), Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Copilot
  • Manage licensing across the tenant: assignment, reclamation, right-sizing, true-ups and renewal planning, ensuring the business pays for what it uses and no more
  • Track new and changing Microsoft offerings, licensing model changes and roadmap items, assessing relevance, cost and risk for the business
  • Define, document and maintain policies and standards covering platform usage, data handling, governance and access
  • Act as technical escalation point for complex Microsoft 365 issues and configuration work
  • Partner with IT, security, procurement and finance on renewals, compliance and audit readiness
  • Lead evaluation and rollout of new capabilities, including Copilot adoption and associated governance
  • Maintain accurate records of entitlements, deployments and consumption across the software estate

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive
  • Demonstrable ownership of Microsoft licensing: SKUs, entitlements, assignment and cost control
  • A technical background, for example as a systems engineer, M365 engineer or infrastructure engineer, with the ability to still work hands-on when required
  • Understanding of how Microsoft's commercial and licensing models work in practice
  • Ability to work independently and act as the internal point of authority on the platform
  • UK work authorisation
